Victorians
There is a light that shines on everyone
And the meaning of this word
Is the meaning of this world
And in the dark there stand Victorians
Who guide my soul, my fate, my life, my home.
But in the light I found a home
It’s just you and me and all the things you like
And you’re so brave
With your, heartbreak
But I’ll know they’ll want me back again some day.
And in the dark, Victorians
Expend their selfish genes on all my dreams
And they sow hate, with their, stupid games
But I’ll know you’ll get them back again someday.
There is a light that shines on everyone
And the meaning of this world
Is the meaning of this word
And in the light, victorious.
Well it grounds my soul, my faith, my life, my hope.

4th July
On the morning, of the 4th of July.
In the year of our Lord 1865
I was standing on the bridge
Of the Mary of the West
And the sea stretched out like silver on the summit
And the captain of the ship
Steered a course out to the west
Where the sea it burns a hazy shade of yellow
And I promise you my dear
I’ll be home within the year
And we’ll dine like kings and queens before a fountain
But before I shall be king, I’ll be prince of all the sea,
And you my love, will be my side companion.
But I knew that I had missed
This chance ‘cos was your kiss
Was the only thing that you were merely, thinking.
And you shine
And I find
Are you so sentimental?
Days like today
Don’t come by
And days like today….
And the days passed and I came to shore
And my riches were displayed with clothes of pleasure
And you ran into my arms
And your love for me was strong
Though your hair had grown a little more like silver
And as we lay amongst the grass
And the sun danced in your eyes
Well I sort of felt a coldness in your figure
And the captain of the ship
Well he said that you were sick
And I saw your face
A funny shade of yellow.
And you shine
And you find
Are you so sentimental?
Days like today
Don’t come by
And days like today………

Chariots

Alcohol
Has sent my soul to sleep
I have no friends to keep
Me from the demons, in my head
I am all undone
Arias
Do all the work you got
And take me to the highest room
I am all undone
And all I ever got
Was how to get this song
From average into gold
And ever will be
Ever will be
In my life,
Ever to be,
In my life
Chariots
Will find you in your sleep
And take you to, the highest peaks
Of solemn song
And all you ever want
Will be forever song
You’ll be forever young
Ever will be
And ever to be
In a life
You always could be
In your mind
Chariots
Will find you in your sleep
The banishment
All you want
Is here
Oh oh oh oh oh
yeah
yeah
yeah

30 Feet

It’s just something that you’ve got to do
I don’t know why it is
But it’s the grime and the strive and the dirty mine
They don’t care what you want
They don’t care how you feel
Its just life
And you’ve just gotta get on with it
In the ground of south Staffordshire
All my love, and you and me and all my sensycrations
But in my eyes, you were my saviour
Oh. Oh……
30 years beneath the ground
Then you drop to find you, can’t go on
30ft beneath the ground
All the way, in the land, south Staffordshire
Oh, and you shall mine
Suddenly you feel the ground, falling at ‘ya
Oh, what a life
30 years beneath the ground
30ft beneath this sodding ground
You’ll never be what you ‘wanna be
You’ll never see what you ‘wanna see
You’ll never be what you 'wanna be
Across this land south Staffordshire.
In-ter-nat-ion-al, high trade
Oh, keeps the cold away.
Empire, oh oh
For this land we dig and die
All them names
And their empire games
But you and I
Are in no doubt
We’ve got each other and that about.
And the falling sound
And the hammers pound
And the falling shaft
And the screaming sound
And at 30ft beneath the ground
And after 30 years
And then you drop
And at 30ft
There is no sound
And all you ever never do
Is accept it all, as it is
It’s easier now with a song
I know eases if you drink
And at 30ft, and at 30ft, and at 30ft
There is no sound
And you shall mine
And you shall find
30ft beneath the ground
In the Staffordshire, the seam is deep
And I know my head keeps pounding dear
But at 30ft, and at 30ft….
30ft beneath the ground
30ft beneath the ground

A million miles sailed
I’m not waiting but the moment you arrived
On the scene
Well I’ve sat and all my heritage is…
Alright - Hold tight
I’m on - Half light
And I can’t get - Into
Well 35 years and I’ve got my eyes on you
All the days
All the nights I’ve sat and silently erased
And oh, oh, oh………and oh, oh, oh.
Well you don’t know you’re born
You don’t know, you held me up, in your arms.
Consider me child
I’m not waiting
But I want you in my arms
All my days
All my life
Now all my nights are silently….
Alright - Hold tight
I’m on - Half light
Well I can’t get - Into
Well 35 years and I’ve got my eyes on you
All the days
All the nights I’ve sat and silently erased
And oh, oh, oh………and oh, oh, oh.
Well you don’t know you’re born
You don’t know, you held me up, in your arms.
Remember me - I’m on my own
I’m on…
